To enroll into Medicare, you must apply through social security. You can do this by creating an account online and submitting an application for Medicare only OR you may also apply for your social security benefits.

If you prefer not to apply online, you can call your local social security office and schedule an enrollment appointment over the phone. Keep in mind they are typically about two months out with appointments so contact them 3 months before your 65th birthday month.

Once you submit your application to social security, you should receive your new Medicare card within 3-4 weeks.

How Much Does Part B Cost?
